Who Is Kevin Clement?
Kevin Clement began exploring wild country early, with sketchbook in hand. By the time he completed his art degree, he had already established a reputation as an up-and-coming illustrator. After several years in the business, he suddenly found his career path diverted when something big got in his way—Alaska.
He seized an opportunity to work a summer in Glacier Bay National Park—a summer of adventure that led him onto the path of wilderness guiding.
He has no regrets. His work as a naturalist guide has taken him all over the world, and given him an abundance of wild and natural subjects to draw and paint. He stays busy fulfilling commissions, and his artwork has been displayed in galleries across Alaska and elsewhere.
He never travels without his sketchbook. He’ll tell you that the thing he loves is wild country—exploring it, learning about it, and painting it.

Artist
After starting out as an illustrator, Kevin now creates art for galleries and collectors, and frequently accepts commissions. Wherever he travels, he always brings his sketchbook. Drawing from life in some wild place–that is his bliss.

Naturalist
As a founder and owner of Apex Expeditions, Kevin has led trips to all seven continents, with small groups on land or on expedition ships—including about 70 voyages to Antarctica. He served for years as Head Instructor for the Denali Foundation.

Wilderness Guide
Kevin has guided groups in whitewater rafts, in sea kayaks, and by dog sled, and is a Certification Instructor for the Wilderness Education Association. He has lived for many years in remote parts of Alaska, especially its vast national parks, and has traveled extensively in the wilderness areas of the world.
